Dog Badly Burned in Fire Surfaces Three Months Later

A severely burned Siberian Husky was discovered after he staggered to the door of a dog-loving couple’s home near 18th Street and McDowell in south central Phoenix. It is a miracle that he somehow survived third-degree burns on all parts of his body, especially around his face and head. It is estimated that the burns occurred some three months earlier and received no medical attention. He was blinded by burns that would not allow his eyelids to open due to the pain. The kind couple brought him to the Animals Benefit Club sanctuary where he was taken to a veterinary hospital and given emergency care. After receiving six days of medical treatment, the doctors and ABC staff were amazed that he survived the ordeal and somehow made it to a house. His injuries were utterly massive and he still smells of smoke which lingers on his wounded body. ABC’s staff is now caring for him at their sanctuary.

He is about four years old and is quiet and well-mannered. He seems to know that he is finally safe and has already begun wagging his tail and giving “thank you” kisses! He was named “Ben” by the ABC caregivers (after “Gentle Ben”) due to his gentle nature. Ben's is an amazing story of animal survival against the odds.
