The ABC adoption process includes an application and staff interviews to ensure that a dog or cat is compatible with his or her prospective family. Beautiful, sensitive, intelligent Asha was chained up to a house and abandoned. Her gorgeous fur coat was filthy and painfully matted. Good samaritans rescued her and she is now at ABC where she is already starting to relax and is making lots of friends. Asha enjoys playtime in the yards with her friend Dolly (adopted!). Clarissa was rescued from a neglect situation with her three sisters (all adopted). She is as sweet as molasses, confident, smart, very energetic, and simply beautiful with her tiger-like stripes. She's great with people of all ages and enjoys playtime with other dogs. Why didn’t Clarissa go home but her sisters did? We have no idea! She's probably been waiting for you!

Doyle was rescued with a painful infection on his neck where it had been rubbed raw by a tight chain. He’s a little shy at first, but don’t let that fool you! Our extraordinary and intelligent brindle-coated Doyle is a sweet and playful young man who enjoys cuddling, belly rubs, and playing outside.
He and his good friend, Katie, went hiking and he was a perfect gentleman with impeccable manners! Doyle is exceptionally well behaved on a leash, great in the car, and loves to go hiking. He enjoys playtime with his friend Katie.

Gorgeous Elsa was rescued from the streets of Mesa, scared and hungry. Fortunately she was rescued by volunteers and is already happily playing ball in the yards! Elsa is very smart, polite, and playful. She enjoys playtime with her friend Kodiak.

Gunnar is an extremely handsome young man who can't wait to meet new people! He loves to run around the yards with people and play fetch with all of his toys, and he loves to sit in laps. Gunnar went hiking with his soime of his dog friends and was very well behaved on the trail and in the car. He's very bright, alert, and attentive, and does very well on a leash. Gunnar is a little bit too interested in cats right now, but he may relax over time.
Gunnar enjoys hanging out with other dogs and likes to romp with his pal Bingo (adopted!). We've posted a short clip of Bingo and Gunnar being silly and a second clip of Gunnar playing ball on the videos page.

Her silly and spunky personality makes her a great fit for an active family. Kachina adores all her human friends and gets along with other dogs.

Katie is a playful little girl with lots of love to give. Sadly, she lost her home after her previous person passed on. Active and energetic, Katie loves people of all ages, other dogs, and, she even does just fine with cats.
Katie enjoys playtime and hiking with her friends Doyle and Zeus (adopted!). She went on a hike with her good buddy, Doyle, and could not have been more perfectly behaved! She is fantastic on a leash, wonderful in the car, and has impeccable manners. Katie loves to run around the yards with her human friends, and she thinks that laps are a wonderful place to take a break when she's done running around. She's a beautiful little cuddle bug!

Sweet, intelligent, beautiful Lola was found with her puppies near 43rd and Glendale. By the time rescuers arrived, someone had taken Lola's puppies away and left her, upset and crying. This amazing girl adores people and is an absolute cuddlebug.

"Pick me! Pick me! Oh, please pick me!!"
Luna gets really excited when people visit, and she lets you know it! She’s actually a perfect little cuddle-bug lap dog in disguise who likes nothing more than curling up in your lap. Luna’s also fun and playful and loves to run around in the yard chasing after toys of every kind. She’s wonderful on a leash, and is the perfect size at around 50 lbs. Luna has been on hikes with her some of her dog pals and was exceptionally well behaved on the trail and in the car.

Montana is shy at first but is a very loyal and loving girl once she gets to know you. She is exceptionally fond of tummy rubs! Montana is a special needs girl with one eye and needs to be the only dog in an experienced, adult home. Her distinctive "ridge" of fur that runs along her back is visible in the top right corner of the first photo.

Oreo is a stunningly handsome and very athletic gentleman who loves to romp in the yards with people. His name doesn't come from his beautiful markings, it's because he's sweeter than cookies! This bright young man already knows several basic commands and is very eager to please. Oreo loves to play with his plush toys and is fond of snuggling up with his human friends and begging for tummy rubs.

Pluto has a thick, gorgeous coat that you’ll just love to run your fingers through! He’s a handsome, highly intelligent, and spunky boy who loves scratches, and will gently put a paw on your arm to let you know he’d like some more! He can be shy when meeting new people for the first time, but once he knows you, you'll have a friend for life. Pluto really enjoys sitting on park benches with his friends and basking in the sunshine, and he loves to go for rides in the car.

Beautiful Sage and her puppies Kachina and Kodiak were rescued by a volunteer on the reservation near the casino. Sage is as sweet as can be despite the harsh street life she led up until her rescue. She was covered in scabs and emaciated, but she's completely healed and in excellent spirits. Sage adores everyone she meets, she's an execeptionally intelligent and very well behaved girl with great manners. We've posted a video of Sage playing in the yard on the videos page.

Sassy is one of beautiful Violet's (adopted!) precious puppies. She's a talkative, clever little girl who's always looking to get into some kind of adventure. Sassy is sure to bring lots of love and energy with her to her forever home.

Beautiful (Miss) Scarlet was rescued from the reservation and diagnosed with a severe case of Valley Fever. She underwent three weeks of progressive, but expensive, intravenous treatment that saved her life. Her rescuers and doctors are thrilled to see that she made a full recovery. Despite her numerous doctor visits, Scarlet is the sweetest, most gentle girl in the world. She has a great big smile for everyone she meets, and she also gets along very well with other dogs. Now that she's feeling better, Scarlet can be found happily romping around the yards with all of her friends.

Sienna is our stunning, caramel colored girl who's sweeter than chocolate! She's the happiest dog in the world, she loves people and playtime, and she has loads of energy. She's equally fond of snuggling, playing vigorously in the yards, and going for long walks in the park. Sienna is a wiry, very athletic girl who wags her whole body with enthusiasm once she gets to know new people. She is alert, attentive, and very well behaved on a leash.

Sadly, our intelligent, handsome Tux was abandoned. He was extremely scared and wound up on the e-list at County where a caring employee emailed rescue groups to see if someone could pick him up. ABC rescued him and sweet Tux is now safe and sound, waiting patiently for his forever home and wagging happily at his friends.
